The Uncanny Feminine

For this exhibition, curated by the lovely Maisie Taylor, I’ll be going back to my former haunts in the Grosvenor Building at Manchester School of Art - the very same building where I did my Foundation Art course. So naturally, I had to jump at this opportunity.

I am lucky to be featuring two works; Women of Discord (now spanning across TWO banners), and Ye Look Not Upon Destruction, But Derangement, a new piece of applique work of the story of Cassandra of Troy.

The exhibition will be displaying works that examine themes of feminine experience, emotional repression, and identity through the lens of the psychoanalytic uncanny (Unheimliche).
